When you do, you may find yourself asking the following question:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>There&#8217;s <\/b><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><b>snow<\/b><\/span><span class=\"s1\"><b> everywhere. What do I do?<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Plan ahead!<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Call 5-1-1 for information on road and highway conditions and closures.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Allow extra travel time to and from your destination.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">If driving, slow down and take extra precautions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\"><span class=\"s4\">Ride the <a href=\"http:\/\/nau.edu\/parking-shuttle-services\/shuttle-information\/\"><span class=\"s5\"><b>Louie Line, Jacks Line, AXElite<\/b><\/span><\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/mountainline.az.gov\/routes\/route-10-mountain-link-maroon\/\"><span class=\"s5\"><b>Mountain Link<\/b><\/span><\/a> (Route 10) shuttles.<\/span>\n<ul class=\"ul2\">\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s6\"><b><\/b><a href=\"http:\/\/www.naubus.com\/\"><span class=\"s5\"><b>Track NAU buses online<\/b><\/span><\/a><\/span><span class=\"s1\"> and download the <a href=\"https:\/\/mountainline.az.gov\/rider-tips\/flgride-mobile-app\/\"><span class=\"s7\"><b>Mobile App<\/b><\/span><\/a> to track Mountain Link shuttles in real-time.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Students can purchase a discounted <a href=\"http:\/\/mountainline.wpengine.com\/product-category\/student-passes\/\"><span class=\"s7\"><b>Mountain Line bus pass<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Employees are encouraged to commute using their <a href=\"http:\/\/nau.edu\/Parking-Shuttle-Services\/ecoPASS\/\"><span class=\"s7\"><b>ecoPASS<\/b><\/span><\/a> on Mountain Line.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Prepare your car for winter:<\/span>\n<ul class=\"ul2\">\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Use <\/span><span class=\"s2\">snow<\/span><span class=\"s1\"> tires, chains or studded tires.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Check your windshield wiper fluid and keep your gas tank full.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Stock your car with winter necessities including a windshield scraper, sand and small shovel for ice and <\/span><span class=\"s2\">snow<\/span><span class=\"s1\"> removal, extra hats and mittens, blankets, water, flashlight with extra batteries and a first-aid kit.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Dress wearing several layers of lightweight, warm clothing.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Avoid slips and falls by wearing appropriate footwear or traction cleats.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Keep your cell phone fully charged and carry a phone charger with you.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Avoid overexertion when shoveling <\/span><span class=\"s2\">snow<\/span><span class=\"s1\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How will I know if NAU has canceled classes and\/or postponed operations?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In general, faculty, staff and students should assume that NAU will continue to operate on a regular schedule.<\/p>\n<p>On those rare occasions when classes are canceled and\/or operations are delayed, the NAU Communications Office will provide notifications by 6:30 a.m. via:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/its\/nausafe\/\"><strong>NAU Safe app<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0<a title=\"https:\/\/nau.edu\/emergency-management\/alert\/\" href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/emergency-management\/alert\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" aria-label=\"Link NAU Alert webpage\"><strong>NAU Alert webpage<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Local news media<\/li>\n<li>NAU Social Media:\u00a0<a title=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/nauflagstaff\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/NAUFlagstaff\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" aria-label=\"Link Facebook\"><b>Facebook<\/b><\/a>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/nau\">X<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/nauflagstaff\">Instagram<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Campuswide email<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-style: inherit !important; font-weight: inherit !important;\">Should I stay? Or should I go?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-style: inherit !important; font-weight: inherit !important;\">Employees and students who are concerned about trying to get to work or class during inclement weather are encouraged to use their best judgment\u2014your safety is NAU\u2019s primary concern. Students who choose to stay home should contact their professors to make arrangements to turn in assignments later or learn what was missed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-style: inherit !important; font-weight: inherit !important;\">Employees who decide to stay home should call in and let their supervisor know following established department procedures.
