Paul Simon Award for Comprehensive Internationalization that NAU was awarded for its Global Learning Initiative.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Northern Arizona University has received official recognition for its significant strides and focused efforts to interweave intercultural and global learning into the higher education environment.<\/p>\n<p>NAU President <strong>John Haeger<\/strong> and <strong>Harvey Charles<\/strong>, vice provost for International Education, accepted the 2012 Sen. Paul Simon Award for Comprehensive Internationalization from NAFSA: Association of International Educators last week in Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n<p>The five institutions selected to receive the national award <a href=\"http:\/\/stage.headlessnauedu-b6hgdzckfdgxgzhe.westus-01.azurewebsites.net\/nau-earns-award-for-achievements-in-internationalization\/\">were announced<\/a> in March. As part of the event, Haeger participated in a panel discussion with presidents from the other winning institutions.<\/p>\n<p>NAU hosts 965 international students from more than 65 countries.
