The feature, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=It-w24Z28RY&amp;t=41s\">I Recommend You Start Painting<\/a>\u201d is nominated for News Singles Story\/Series\/Feature and for Photographer (Non-News). The promotional spot for NAU-TV, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=gv2ppCty7t8\">The Lumberjack Life<\/a>\u201d is nominated for Promotion Program- Single Spot or Image. <strong>Jerry Anderfuren, Josh Biggs, Corderro McMurry, Erik Sather <\/strong>and<strong> Alex Thomas<\/strong> all were named in the nominations.<\/li>\n<li>Professor emeritus <strong>Matt A. Casado<\/strong> presented a paper at the Annual Research Conference at Bournemouth University. The paper, \u201cA Model for Career-Specific Foreign Language Teaching in Higher Education Professional Programs,\u201d proposed standards for teaching industry-related foreign language courses at the university level. Casado represented <a href=\"http:\/\/franke.nau.edu\/\">The W. A. Franke College of Business<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/nau.edu\/cefns\/forestry\/\">School of Forestry<\/a> professor <strong>Thomas Kolb<\/strong> presented a talk at the Gordon Research Conference on Plasticity. The talk Kolb presented was, \u201cForest CSI: Understanding Mechanisms of Tree Mortality from Vascular \u2018Fingerprints.\u2019\u201d The conference focused on phenotypic plasticity in plants.<\/li>\n<li>Emeritus professor<strong> Laura Huenneke <\/strong>was elected president of the Ecological Society of America (ESA) during the society\u2019s annual meeting. ESA is one of the world\u2019s largest professional societies of ecologists, with more than 9,000 members. As president, Huenneke will chair ESA\u2019s governing board that establishes the society\u2019s visions, goals and objectives.<\/li>\n<li>Personalized Learning program coordinator<strong> Corrine Gordon<\/strong>\u00a0was selected to serve on the Board of Directors for Competency-Based Education Network (C-BEN).
