{"id":50763,"date":"2018-03-14T08:28:54","date_gmt":"2018-03-14T15:28:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/?p=50763"},"modified":"2018-04-30T09:38:05","modified_gmt":"2018-04-30T16:38:05","slug":"taylor-lambrigger-hura-research","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/taylor-lambrigger-hura-research\/","title":{"rendered":"NAU student using anthropological methods to help ID unidentified human remains (VIDEO)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By <strong>Erik Sather<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>NAU-TV<\/em><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Northern Arizona University <strong>Taylor Lambrigger<\/strong> is getting hands-on research experience that\u2019s straight out of a \u201cCrime Scene Investigation\u201d script.<\/p>\n<p>Lambrigger has been working with <strong>Corina Kellner<\/strong>, an associate professor in the <a href=\"https:\/\/nau.edu\/sbs\/anthropology\/\">Department of Anthropology<\/a>, to use isotope analysis to study ancient people. As part of a <a href=\"https:\/\/nau.edu\/undergraduate-research\/hooper-undergraduate-research-award\/\">Hooper Undergraduate Research Award<\/a> (HURA), she reached out to the Coconino County Medical Examiner\u2019s Office to see if the isotope analyses they did in the lab could provide some identifying information about the unidentified human remains in the medical examiner\u2019s office.<\/p>\n<p>Lambrigger will present her research at a reception for all HURA recipients on April 26 and again at the <a href=\"https:\/\/nau.edu\/Provost\/VPAA\/Undergraduate-Research\/Undergraduate-Symposium\/\">10<sup>th<\/sup> Annual Undergraduate Symposium<\/a> on April 27 at the Walkup Skydome.
