On March 2, the Northern Arizona University Wind Symphony will perform its spring concert, \u201cStravinsky and Friends.\u201d<\/p>\n
The concert will feature two School of Music faculty members, Rita Borden,<\/strong> performing Stravinsky\u2019s \u201cConcerto for Piano and Wind Instruments,\u201d and Louise Scott, <\/strong>who will be featured in the \u201cRomance\u201d movement of \u201cThe Gadfly Suite.\u201d<\/p>\n The concert includes \u201cLa Procession Du Rocio,\u201d composed by Joaquin Turina, and \u201cThe Gadfly Suite\u201d composed by Dmitri Shostakovich, both of whom were heavily influenced by Stravinsky.<\/p>\n Tickets are $10 for the general public and $5 for NAU employees and seniors. Tickets are available through the NAU Ticket Office in the University Union, at the event, online at nau.edu\/cto<\/a> and by calling (928)-523-5661. Parking is free on campus Friday night through Sunday.<\/p>\n The Northern Arizona University Winter Festival of Choirs will be held at 3 p.m. on March 4 in Ardrey Memorial Auditorium. The concert will feature a wide variety of historic, diverse and contemporary music for handbells and choirs from the Harold M. Harter Memorial Handbell Choir, the Men\u2019s Chorale, University Singers and the Women\u2019s Chorale.<\/p>\n Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors\/NAU faculty and staff and free for students with a valid NAU ID.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
