McAllister Endowed Chair in Community, Culture, and Environment, was recently appointed vice chair of the Department of Energy\u2019s (DOE) Biological and Environmental Research Advisory Committee (BERAC).<\/p>\n<p>The members of BERAC provide advice to the DOE\u2019s Director of the Office of Science on the many complex scientific and technical issues that arise in the development and implementation of the agency\u2019s $700 million <a href=\"https:\/\/science.energy.gov\/ber\/\">Biological and Environmental Research<\/a> (BER) program.
