The Lumberjack community will come together to honor the life and civil rights work of Martin Luther King Jr. during Northern Arizona University\u2019s annual MLK Day Celebration Program on Monday.<\/p>\n
The celebration, which takes place on NAU\u2019s campus and throughout the Flagstaff community, is sponsored by the Black Student Union<\/a>. The annual march will begin at 1 p.m. at the DuBois Center on south campus, ending at Union Point. Members of student groups and student-athletes will do service projects throughout the community, including at Hope Cottage and The Peaks Senior Living Community.<\/p>\n From 2-4 p.m. there will be historical displays of historically African-American fraternities and sororities and an MLK Day museum display at the Office of Inclusion.<\/p>\n The university\u00a0will be closed Monday, Jan. 15, in observance of the\u00a0Martin Luther King Jr. holiday<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0NAU permits are not required for parking\u00a0on campus\u00a0that day. Parking restrictions for reserved stalls and meters remain in effect.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
