Students can earn a master\u2019s in special education (non-certification) with an emphasis in positive behavior support or a positive behavior support graduate certificate. The organization looked at tuition rates, flexibility and accreditation.<\/li>\n<li>Disability studies professor <strong>Matthew Wangeman<\/strong> and former NAU student <strong>Kaitlyn Roy<\/strong> will present at the 33<sup>rd<\/sup> Annual Pacific Rim International Conference on Disability and Diversity in Honolulu, Hawaii, next week. The Pac Rim is one of the largest disability related conferences in the world. Wangeman will be presenting on why he teaches disability studies at NAU and the impact he has on his students.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Jamie Awe<\/strong> and other NAU colleagues and students were part of a National Geographic channel series called \u201cOne Strange Rock: How Earth Works.\u201d Awe and his team were in western Belize assisting the Belize government with the conservation and development of several ancient cities for their tourism potential.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Shawn Morton<\/strong>, anthropology faculty researcher, has a new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cambridge.org\/core\/journals\/antiquity\/article\/two-classic-maya-ballplayer-panels-from-tipan-chen-uitz-belize\/05D5BFF71843CE8AD97B9BCA2EE5F9ED\">article<\/a> in \u201cAntiquity\u201d about an ancient Maya ball game. It has been recently highlighted in several publications. The research has been publicized at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ancient-origins.net\/news-history-archaeology\/playing-ball-ancient-belize-1300-year-old-stone-panels-depicting-mayan-021630\">Ancient Origins<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/archaeologynewsnetwork.blogspot.com\/2017\/09\/1300-year-old-stone-panels-from-belize.html#SXIgVXXW3V9fgghf.97\">Archaeology News Network\u00a0<\/a>and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chabilmarvillas.com\/blog\/playing-ball-in-ancient-belize-1300-year-old-stone-panels-depicting-mayan-ballplayers-revealed.html\">Chabil Mar Villas.<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Anthropology chair <strong>Kelley Hays-Gilpin<\/strong> consulted 10 Native American communities to create a new gallery, \u201cNative Peoples of the Colorado Plateau\u201d at the Museum of Northern Arizona. She and Leigh J. Kuwanwisiwma presented on \u201cTracing Hopi History through Pottery\u201d at the Hopi Pottery Festival at the Hopi Veterans\u2019 Center in Kykotsmovi.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Zachary A. Smith<\/strong>, professor of politics and international affairs, recently had the seventh edition of his textbook \u201cThe Environmental Policy Paradox\u201d published by Routledge. This book is the most widely used textbook on environmental politics and policy in the United States.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Lisa Hardy<\/strong> completed exploratory research this summer in the Florida Keys and on the coast of Cuba on wellness and health in changing political times. She conducted trainings on health risk remediation and is a founding member and leader of the Sunnyside Longevity Project, which is designed to train community members on policy wellness.
