During this important visit<a href=\"http:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/wordpresst\/uploads\/sites\/153\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Cheng-Japan.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-46830\" src=\"http:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/wordpresst\/uploads\/sites\/153\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Cheng-Japan-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"President Cheng in Japan\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a> President Cheng and <strong>Daniel Palm<\/strong>, interim executive director of the Center for International Education, met with Kansai University and Kyushu University administrators to discuss new and ongoing collaborative efforts and signed agreements reaffirming NAU&#8217;s\u00a0commitment to broadening student programming and joint research opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>Ten Interdisciplinary Global Program (IGP) students are planning to study at these institutions for the 2017-2018\u00a0academic year and participate in the\u00a0program, which includes a semester of study as well as a semester of internship at the university or in a local Japanese company.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><a class=\"search-results-excerpt-link\" href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/cheng-japan\/\">With hopes of strengthening NAU&#8217;s partnerships, President Rita Cheng\u00a0traveled to Japan over\u00a0spring break.
