NAU was recognized for its broad-spectrum curriculum covering human growth and development, research and program evaluation, cultural foundations and relationships, as well as especially active student groups and student-run mental illness support groups.<\/li>\n<li>After the <a href=\"http:\/\/stage.headlessnauedu-b6hgdzckfdgxgzhe.westus-01.azurewebsites.net\/nau-mens-cross-country-wins-national-title\/\">men&#8217;s cross country team brought the institution&#8217;s first NCAA Division I national championship<\/a> last year, <strong>Northern Arizona University<\/strong> made the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.capitalonecup.com\/\">Capital One Cup<\/a> men\u2019s fall standings, tying University of California for No. 14. NAU is one of two Big Sky schools that received a ranking out of the 44 institutions on the list, and the only Arizona state school in the standings. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.capitalonecup.com\/docs\/complete-capital-one-cup-standings.pdf\">A full list of standings can be found online<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>School of Communication professor <strong>Kristen Swanson<\/strong> recently published an article titled, &#8220;A Theoretical Framework for Sustaining Culture: Culturally Sustainable Entrepreneurship,&#8221; in the Annals of Tourism Research. The paper proposes culturally sustainable entrepreneurship as a theoretical framework for insight and advocacy of living cultures in a tourism context.<\/li>\n<li>Professor <strong>Caitlyn Burford<\/strong>, associate director of forensics, and associate professor <strong>Julie Schutten<\/strong> have published an article titled \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/journal.frontiersin.org\/article\/10.3389\/fcomm.2016.00016\/full?&amp;utm_source=Email_to_authors_&amp;utm_medium=Email&amp;utm_content=T1_11.5e1_author&amp;utm_c\">Internatural Activists and the \u201cBlackfish Effect\u201d: Contemplating Captive Orcas\u2019 Protest Rhetoric Through a Coherence Frame<\/a>,&#8221; in the Science and Environmental Communication section of <em>Frontiers in Communication<\/em>.
