The Lumberjack community will come together to honor the life and civil rights work of Martin Luther King Jr. during Northern Arizona University\u2019s annual MLK Day Celebration Program on Monday, Jan. 16.<\/p>\n
A march will begin at 1 p.m. at the University Union and end at the du Bois Center Ballroom on south campus. A program showcasing student talents and several speakers, including President Rita Cheng, will take place at 1:30 p.m. The public is invited to join students and staff to celebrate this occasion.<\/p>\n
The Black Student Union, Office of the President, Student Life, Residence Life, Athletics, W.A. Franke College of Business and Inclusion and Multicultural Services are presenting this annual event.<\/p>\n
In the community, student-athletes will participate in various service projects, including preparing and serving\u00a0food and cleaning up trails\u00a0throughout Flagstaff.\u00a0NAU\u2019s\u00a0Civic Service Institute<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0will partner\u00a0with United Blood Services to host a blood drive from 11 a.m.\u00a0to 3 p.m. at the Flagstaff\u00a0Aquaplex, 1702 N Fourth St.<\/p>\n The university\u00a0will be closed Monday, Jan. 16, in observance of the\u00a0Martin Luther King Jr. holiday<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0NAU permits are not required for parking\u00a0on campus\u00a0that day.
