November brings more than just an icy wind to campus. Northern Arizona University is celebrating Native American Heritage Month<\/a> with various activities planned to commemorate\u00a0the traditions and culture of indigenous people.<\/p>\n

Several events, which highlight accomplishments, contributions, and talents, are open to the public, including:<\/p>\n

Native American Visit Day
\n<\/strong>8 a.m.\u20133:30p.m. Friday, Nov. 4
\n<\/em>High Country Conference Center
\nNative American high school students and parents visit the NAU campus to learn how NAU honors cultures through academic and personal development.<\/p>\n

6th<\/sup> Annual Indigenous Music Bash
\n<\/strong>4\u20139 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5
\n<\/em>Du Bois Ballroom (Bldg. 64)
\nJoin in on the fun as Connecting Higher Education Indigenously (CHEI) hosts different Indigenous dancers, singers and talents.<\/p>\n

Monday Night\u00a0Film Screenings
\n<\/strong>7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7, 14, 21
\n<\/em>Cline Library Assembly Hall (Bldg. 28)
\nKicking off the Monday night film series is\u00a0\u201cWarrior Return\u201d and \u201cJim Thorpe: The World\u2019s Greatest Athlete\u201d on Nov. 7, followed by\u00a0“The Seventh Fire” on Nov. 14, and\u00a0“The Sixth World” and “Metal Road” on Nov. 21.<\/p>\n

Celebrating Foods of Native Americans
\n<\/strong>11 a.m.\u20132 p.m.<\/em> Wednesday, Nov. 9
\n<\/em>Hot Spot, University Union (Bldg. 30)
\nEnjoy traditional Native American food for lunch at the University Union. Tickets are $8 per person and can be purchased at Native American Cultural Center<\/a> or the Native American Student Services<\/a> front desk.<\/p>\n

NAU Men\u2019s Basketball Game
\n<\/strong>6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17
\n<\/em>Tuba City, AZ – Warrior Pavilion
\nCheer on the Jacks as they take on Benedictine Mesa at the Warrior Pavilion.\u00a0Tickets are $5, with a\u00a0unique halftime performance and giveaways at the door.<\/p>\n

Miss Indian NAU Organization Pageant 2017
