The event provided an opportunity for the three state universities to come together to promote affordable connectivity of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.internet2.edu\/\">Internet2<\/a> for K-12 classrooms.<\/li>\n<li>Working as a certified archivist at Cline Library since 2007, <strong>Todd Welch<\/strong> was recently elected incoming president of the Academy of Certified Archivists. The Academy was founded in 1989 and participates in the definition and advancement of professional archival education, concepts and issues.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Jonathan Pringle<\/strong>, an archivist in Special Collections and Archives, was recently named the new chair of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www2.archivists.org\/\">Society of American Archivists<\/a> Native American Archives Section. Nominated for several Student Production Awards and Professional Emmy Awards, Northern Arizona University staff, students and alumni took home the following awards:\n<ul>\n<li>Promotion Program: Single Spot\/Image\u2014<strong>Jerry Anderfuren<\/strong> and <strong>Alexander Thomas\u00a0<\/strong>(pictured\u00a0right)<\/li>\n<li>College\/University Student Production: Arts and Entertainment\/Cultural Affairs\u2014<strong>Lucas Mullikin<\/strong>, <strong>Maritza Lopez, Nicholas Mazur<\/strong>, <strong>Haley Barnett<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Mariah Soer<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>College\/University Student Production: Sports\u2014<strong>Austin Davis<\/strong>, <strong>Xavier Rangel, Cody Cameron <\/strong>and<strong> Holly Switay<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>College\/University Student Production: Photographer\u2014<strong>Lucas Mullikin\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Several School of Communication faculty recently participated in Frontier, an AIGA Design Educator Conference at Montana State University. The conference, held in Bozeman Oct. 7-9, was a thought provoking experience where participants proactively defined the future of design education. Professors <strong>Kimberly Mitchell<\/strong> and <strong>Jason Mitchell<\/strong> led a panel discussion on the topic of alternate models of learning and critique with a growing enrollment and online culture titled &#8220;MOOC-ing Design Education.&#8221; Professors <strong>Laura L.
