{"id":45339,"date":"2016-10-05T13:07:11","date_gmt":"2016-10-05T20:07:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stage.headlessnauedu-b6hgdzckfdgxgzhe.westus-01.azurewebsites.net\/?p=45339"},"modified":"2016-10-05T13:08:06","modified_gmt":"2016-10-05T20:08:06","slug":"naus-new-exhibit-celebrates-50-years-university","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/naus-new-exhibit-celebrates-50-years-university\/","title":{"rendered":"NAU&#8217;s new exhibit celebrates 50 years as a university"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Friday, Oct. 7, Cline Library\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/archive.library.nau.edu\/cdm\/ordering\/\">Special Collections and Archives<\/a> opens the 2016-17 exhibit entitled \u201cFounded in 1899, Transformed in 1966: Celebrating 50 Years as a University 1966-2016,\u201d commemorating NAU&#8217;s\u00a050 years as a university.<\/p>\n<p>Northern Arizona Normal School was founded in 1899 and evolved into a university on May 1, 1966. The exhibit highlights the growth of the physical campus, the university leadership, athletics, progression of the academic programs and students that help define Northern Arizona University today.<\/p>\n<p>Graduate student<strong>\u00a0Alexandra Morris<\/strong>, <a href=\"http:\/\/library.nau.edu\/speccoll\/blog\/2016\/04\/announcing-our-2016-elizabeth-m-and-pt-reilly-intern-alexandra-morris\/\">Cline Library\u2019s 2016 Elizabeth M. and P.T.
