{"id":45118,"date":"2016-09-21T13:37:53","date_gmt":"2016-09-21T20:37:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stage.headlessnauedu-b6hgdzckfdgxgzhe.westus-01.azurewebsites.net\/?p=45118"},"modified":"2016-09-21T13:37:53","modified_gmt":"2016-09-21T20:37:53","slug":"nau-supports-achieve60az-initiative-advance-education-across-state","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/nau-supports-achieve60az-initiative-advance-education-across-state\/","title":{"rendered":"NAU supports Achieve60AZ initiative to advance education across the state"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\">Last week, Arizona launched <a href=\"http:\/\/achieve60az.com\/\">Achieve60AZ<\/a>, a statewide educational attainment initiative aiming\u00a0to\u00a0equip 60 percent of Arizonans with some form of post-high\u00a0school certificate or degree by 2030.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">President <strong>Rita Cheng<\/strong> joined\u00a0the Arizona Board of Regents, Gov. <strong>Doug Ducey <\/strong>and more than 60 Arizona leaders<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>during the launch event on Sept. 16.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cNAU remains driven to provide educational opportunities that enhance employment options for our residents and to support the economic success of our state,&#8221; Cheng\u00a0said. &#8220;Achieve60AZ reinforces the common goal and commitment of all education sectors, the Arizona non-profit community, and Arizona businesses to prepare for a constantly changing workforce and a future full of opportunities!&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am honored to join state leaders in announcing this attainment goal, which will serve to further enable Arizona in providing greater opportunities for the people who live, learn and work here,\u201d said <strong>Greg Patterson<\/strong>, chair of the Arizona Board of Regents.
