\nThe new fine art photography exhibit, which will be on display through Oct. 15, underscores the tension between <\/span>discipline and chaos<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Montague\u2019s photographs are in three distinct series: Constructs, Insects<\/i> and Militainment<\/i>.\u00a0<\/span>He employs an old fashioned type of print photography technique, but uses it in a very non-traditional way\u2014capturing images from video games and magnified images of insects and their parts.\u00a0Complimentary parking is available on north campus in lots P3, P4 (ADA), P8 and on Knoles Drive during NAU Art Museum opening receptions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Fifteen years ago on Sept.\u00a011, photojournalist Eric O\u2019Connell<\/strong> was living in Manhattan when reports of a plane hitting the World Trade Center inspired him to grab his camera and run toward the scene.\u00a0He began capturing images of the tragedy unfolding around him when the second plane struck. When the south tower collapsed, he was partially buried in chalky rubble. O\u2019Connell\u2019s \u201cduty to photojournalism\u201d kept him photographing.\u00a0Now an assistant professor of photography and photojournalism at Northern Arizona University, he is exhibiting 16 Ground Zero black and white images in the Eric O\u2019Connell 9\/11 Photography Exhibit.\u00a0O\u2019Connell, who still suffers post traumatic stress from his experience, hopes his intense images help young people understand what it was like that day and the impact it continues to have on the world. Images from the exhibit\u00a0appeared in New York galleries honoring 9\/11, in The New York Times <\/em>in 2002, and can be found in his book, A New Reality<\/em>, a first-person account of 9\/11.
