Northern Arizona University opened a new Visitor and Outreach Center in Prescott Valley last week, demonstrating the university\u2019s ongoing commitment to Yavapai County.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis community is a critical center of Arizona\u2019s workforce and economy, and we are proud that NAU is an educational partner,\u201d NAU President Rita Cheng<\/strong> said.<\/p>\n Almost 5,000 NAU graduates currently live in Yavapai County, and there are more than 1,000 students from Yavapai County that are enrolled in NAU right now.<\/p>\n \u201cNAU is at the forefront of boundary-free education opportunities, and this welcome center captures our vision,\u201d Cheng said. \u201cWe are ready for more students, enhanced degree options and stronger partnerships with this community.\u201d<\/p>\n The\u00a0center is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.\u00a0Monday through Friday and noon to 6 p.m. Saturday.\u00a0<\/span>In addition to merchandise sales, the center is staffed\u00a0to provide information on NAU programs and services in Yavapai County, online and at\u00a0the Flagstaff\u00a0campus to future Lumberjacks and their parents.\u00a0Special events at the center will engage alumni, current students and community members. <\/span><\/p>\n \u201cHigher education is not just vital to the success of NAU in Flagstaff or in Prescott Valley\u2013it is critical for the economic success of this entire region and our state as a whole,\u201d Cheng said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
