A. Franke College of Business, was elected to serve on the Executive Committee of the Academy of Legal Studies in Business at the organization\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alsb.org\/annual-conference\">2016 conference<\/a> held in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The ALSB is an international association of business law and ethics professors with approximately 1,000 members. It has 12 affiliated regional associations and sponsors two\u00a0academic journals. Yordy will serve a five-year rotation, planning the international conference in 2019 and serving as president of the organization in 2019-20.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.com\/earth\/story\/20160804-our-ancestors-may-have-spread-anthrax-all-around-the-world\">An article published by the BBC<\/a>\u00a0relies on anthrax research conducted in the\u00a0Center for Microbial Genetics and Genomics by\u00a0<strong><strong>Talima Pearson,<\/strong><\/strong> assistant director of\u00a0the center and assistant research professor, alongside\u00a0<strong>Paul Keim<\/strong>,<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Regents&#8217; professor and director of the center. Keim and his team have been conducting groundbreaking anthrax research since the early 2000s with studies published around the world.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Bill Carter<\/strong>, assistant professor of practice in Creative Media and Film at the School of Communication, was recruited by\u00a0MIT&#8217;s Sloan School of Management to create a film highlighting the <a href=\"http:\/\/mit-bigdatalatam.com\/#welcome\">Big Data<\/a>\u00a0conference in Bogota, Colombia last May. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=boE7T5YoioI\">The film<\/a>\u00a0is a result of Carter&#8217;s two-year partnership with\u00a0MIT. He\u00a0also is\u00a0working with MIT on\u00a0multiple future projects, including films in Asia, Latin America and Europe as well as trying to raise money for renewable energy projects.
