Mercury will pass across the face of the sun Monday, May 9, and the\u00a0campus community is invited to watch.<\/p>\n

The rare event\u00a0occurs only approximately 13 times per century\u2014the next one is not expected until November 2019.<\/p>\n

The Physics and Astronomy Department and the NAU Astronomy Club will have telescopes with solar filters set up from 8-11:42 a.m. on the pedway just north of the University Union.<\/p>\n
