{"id":43347,"date":"2016-04-26T16:24:16","date_gmt":"2016-04-26T23:24:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stage.headlessnauedu-b6hgdzckfdgxgzhe.westus-01.azurewebsites.net\/?p=43347"},"modified":"2016-04-28T08:45:38","modified_gmt":"2016-04-28T15:45:38","slug":"humanities-professor-recognized-scholarship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/humanities-professor-recognized-scholarship\/","title":{"rendered":"Humanities professor recognized for scholarship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Zsuzsanna Gulacsi<\/strong>\u2019s email inbox filled up with congratulatory messages earlier this month after she was\u00a0awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship and a residency at the National Humanities Center.<\/p>\n<p>The highly coveted awards for her sabbatical research during the upcoming school year support her project, &#8220;Artistic Culture of Religious Instruction along the Trade Routes of Late Ancient and Medieval Asia.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBeing awarded the prestigious Guggenheim Fellowship is important for our department and the university,\u201d said Gulacsi, a professor in the Department of Comparative Cultural Studies.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gf.org\/about\/fellowship\/\">John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Fellowship<\/a> was established in 1925 to recognize productive artists, scholars, and scientists in all fields.
