Pfeffer teaches in University College.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Nancy Johnson<\/strong>, professor in the School of Earth Sciences and Environmental Sustainability, became a Regents\u2019 professor, in part because of her research on mycorrhizae and their symbiotic relationship with plants.<\/p>\n<p>The President\u2019s Distinguished Teaching Fellow Award was given to <strong>Beverly Amer<\/strong> of the W.A. Franke College of Business and <strong>Patricia Murphey<\/strong> in the School of Communication.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s ceremony included a first: the Provost\u2019s Award for a Part-Time Faculty. <strong>Mara Pfeffer<\/strong>, who received the award and teaches in University College, said she enjoys working with first-year students.
