{"id":42977,"date":"2016-04-12T15:32:17","date_gmt":"2016-04-12T22:32:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stage.headlessnauedu-b6hgdzckfdgxgzhe.westus-01.azurewebsites.net\/?p=42977"},"modified":"2016-04-12T20:59:59","modified_gmt":"2016-04-13T03:59:59","slug":"tribal-leaders-nau-students-benefit-economic-outlook-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/tribal-leaders-nau-students-benefit-economic-outlook-conference\/","title":{"rendered":"Tribal leaders and NAU students benefit from economic outlook conference"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Each person and each tribe has a unique path to greatness and the ability to handle adversity is key to long-term success: such was the message of hope and perseverance shared by Charles Wood, chairman of the Chemehuevi Tribe,\u00a0at Northern Arizona University&#8217;s Tribal Economic Outlook Conference.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If you&#8217;re not making mistakes, you&#8217;re not trying,&#8221; Wood told an audience of more than 160 people at the April 6 event at the High Country Conference Center. The conference was hosted by\u00a0NAU\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/franke.nau.edu\/caied\/\">Center for American Indian Economic Development<\/a>, which is part of the W. A.
