Franke College of Business ranked among the top 10 in the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/bestforvets.militarytimes.com\/business-schools\/2016\/\">\u2018Best for Vets: Business Schools\u2019<\/a>\u00a0in the\u00a0<em>Military Times<\/em>\u00a0ranking released\u00a0this week.<\/p>\n<p>NAU ranked No. 10 out of more than\u00a0180 colleges and universities surveyed across the country. \u00a0The university also\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/stage.headlessnauedu-b6hgdzckfdgxgzhe.westus-01.azurewebsites.net\/nau-named-best-for-vets-and-military-friendly\/#.VrtMzsep7ML\">earned recognition<\/a>\u00a0in November for its student veteran programs and was designated as a \u2018Best for Vets\u2019 and military friendly university.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have\u00a0a long\u00a0standing commitment to\u00a0supporting students who are veterans\u00a0or on\u00a0active duty,&#8221; said NAU President\u00a0<strong>Rita Cheng<\/strong>. &#8220;Our faculty and staff\u00a0are deeply invested in the success of our students in the College of Business and across the university.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The publication\u2019s annual list evaluates university culture, student support, academic outcomes and quality, academic policies, cost and financial aid. The W.A. Franke College of Business\u00a0offers a student veteran center with\u00a0targeted programs, individual academic and career development assistance, and resource navigation to enhance the student experience.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re very happy to be recognized for our work with our veteran students,\u201d said <strong>Craig Van Slyke<\/strong>, dean of the W.A. Franke College of Business. \u201cServing those who served our country is a moral obligation that the College of Business faculty and staff take very seriously.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>NAU also earned the highest level rating for the number of staff members dedicated to veteran\u2019s issues and rated high for the academic support services including tutoring, mentoring and learning communities provided for veteran students.<\/p>\n<p>The ranking also considered military course completion, retention and graduation rates, for\u00a0which NAU reported rates of 100 percent in fall 2015. \u201cThe student input and support of the College of Business leadership, alumni and staff have given us the opportunity to continue to add new student success initiatives each term,\u201d\u00a0said <strong>Laurie Jordon,<\/strong> program manager for the college&#8217;s Veteran Student Center.<\/p>\n<p>The complete list of the 2016 rankings is <a href=\"http:\/\/bestforvets.militarytimes.com\/business-schools\/2016\/\">online<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><a class=\"search-results-excerpt-link\" href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/naus-business-college-top-10-best-for-vets\/\">For the third year in a row, Northern Arizona University\u2019s W.A.
