Wayment<\/strong>, professor of psychology, has been elected a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.psychologicalscience.org\/index.php\/members\/fellows\">Fellow of the Association of Psychological Science<\/a>. Wayment joins what APS President C. Randy Gallistel describes as a &#8220;distinguished group of peers whose work has influenced the field of psychological science in important and lasting ways.&#8221; In 2014, Wayment was also elected as a fellow for\u00a0the Society of Experimental Social Psychology in recognition of her substantial empirical contributions to the field of social psychology.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Larry Stevens<\/strong>, professor of psychological sciences, received The Academic Minute\u2019s\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/academicminute.org\/2015\/12\/2015-senior-superlative-awards\/\">Most Likely To Take Over The World\u00a0Senior Superlative Award<\/a><\/strong>. The episode produced by communications officer\u00a0<strong>Theresa Bierer<\/strong>\u00a0discusses Stevens\u2019 research on the brain-boosting powers of dark chocolate. The original episode aired on July 8.<\/li>\n<li>Adjunct professor\u00a0<strong>Casey Reason\u00a0<\/strong>and co-author Richard DuFour recently published\u00a0<em>Professional Learning Communities at Work and Virtual Collaboration: On the Tipping Point of Transformation.<\/em>\u00a0The book focuses on how strategies for virtual collaboration and learning at a distance can shape the school improvement agenda and improve student achievement. The National Education Association sent a sample chapter for the first time in history to its members including 3.2 million educators across the country. Crandall was named the single finalist in December following the retirement of Robert Hammond last June. A former state legislator in Arizona, Crandall served as chairman of the education committees in both the Arizona Senate and House.<\/li>\n<li><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-41182\" src=\"http:\/\/stage.headlessnauedu-b6hgdzckfdgxgzhe.westus-01.azurewebsites.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Noyse-Fellows-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"Fellow\" width=\"355\" height=\"210\" \/>Five students have been awarded the <a href=\"http:\/\/nsfnoyce.org\">Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship<\/a>, which offers $15,000 to undergraduate STEM majors and post-baccalaureate students holding STEM degrees to earn a teaching credential and commit to teaching in high-need school districts. Noyce Fellows, pictured from left, are graduate student <strong>Lindsey Barron<\/strong>, undergraduates\u00a0<b>Julie Leovic,\u00a0<\/b><strong style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Amy Fraue<\/strong><strong>n<\/strong>,<strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Brad Berger<\/strong>\u00a0and graduate student\u00a0<strong>Lauren Newland<\/strong>. Ursin presented the quilts to <strong>Dave Wagner<\/strong>, associate professor of biological sciences, and <strong>Dawn Birdsell<\/strong>, associate director for MGGen, last month.<\/li>\n<li>NAU student, <strong>Samantha McGonigle<\/strong>, was selected as the <a href=\"http:\/\/passport.peacecorps.gov\/2015\/12\/11\/congratulations-to-our-campus-ambassadors-photo-competition-winners\/\">national winner<\/a> in the 2nd Annual Peace Corps Campus Ambassadors Photo Competition. Peace Corps Ambassadors across the country captured the competition\u2019s theme, \u2018Where do you want to go?\u2019 in their photo entries.
