Northern Arizona University has been designated a \u2018Best for Vets\u2019 university for student veterans, making the Military Times\u00a0<\/em>list for 2016<\/a>. NAU ranked 66 in the nation.\"\"<\/p>\n

NAU also made the\u00a02016 list of military friendly schools<\/a>, earning the designation\u00a0for the fourth year in a row.<\/p>\n

Erin Grisham<\/strong>, associate vice president for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs at NAU, credits the ranking to the university\u2019s commitment to student veterans.<\/p>\n

\u201cNAU promotes a supportive and collaborative culture to ensure the success of veterans pursuing a degree,\u201d Grisham said. \u201cWe strive to minimize the difficulties often faced by veterans entering the academic world. We offer support services and develop processes to help our student veterans integrate into university classes and civilian life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Student veterans access specialized services at two locations on the Flagstaff campus: the Veteran Success Center and the W.A. Franke College of Business Veteran Student Success Center. Students also can access services\u00a0through the virtual veteran center<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur centers provide individual support, resources and assistance to cover the entire spectrum of university life,\u201d said Laurie Jordon<\/strong>, coordinator in the business college\u2019s Veteran Student Success Center. \u201cThe centers are a home away from home where veterans can connect with other veterans. Staff and students alike build a camaraderie and a network of support, resources and friendship.\u201d<\/p>\n

The W.A. Franke College of Business was singled out by the Military Times <\/em>this year\u00a0as a best business school for veterans. The college ranked fourth in the nation in the\u00a0annual ‘Best for Vets: Business Schools<\/a>\u2019 list.<\/p>\n

NAU also earned accolades from U.S. News & World Report\u00a0<\/em>in May. NAU’s\u00a0online bachelor\u2019s and graduate degree programs were chosen as one of the nation\u2019s Best Online Programs for Veterans<\/a>. The online bachelor\u2019s program ranked 115 of the 737 schools evaluated and the online master\u2019s program ranked 91. The rankings were based on the affordability, faculty credentials, student services and reputation.<\/p>\n
