These functions will be an integral part of the university\u2019s new Office of Strategic Communications, which also includes University Marketing, TV Services and KNAU. The university-wide operation will be led by\u00a0<b>Carla Andrews-O\u2019Hara<\/b>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/stage.headlessnauedu-b6hgdzckfdgxgzhe.westus-01.azurewebsites.net\/nau-alumna-returns-as-chief-marketing-and-communications-officer\/\">university\u2019s chief marketing and communication officer<\/a>, who begins Aug. 3.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Brown, a two-time NAU alumna, has been with Public Affairs for more than five years and its second in command\u00a0for more than two years.\u00a0She brought to NAU more than 15 years experience in marketing, communication and outreach efforts in the public and private sector, including internal and external communication, media relations and fundraising.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><a class=\"search-results-excerpt-link\" href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/cindy-brown-to-lead-public-affairs\/\">Cindy Brown has been selected to step into the leadership role for NAU\u2019s Office of Public Affairs, replacing Director Tom Bauer, who retires July 31.
