Johnson\u2019s piece features an animated Lightbox covered with recycled aluminum cans and bottle caps. The piece focuses on conflict and the repeating pattern that is created from the lack of resolution.\u00a0The exhibit will open in Yuma and also be on display at the West Valley Art HQ, Prescott College Art Gallery, Tubac Center for the Arts, Coconino Center for the Arts\u00a0and the Phoenix Airport Museum.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Scott Shumaker<\/strong>, a master\u2019s student in the English-Literature program, delivered a paper titled \u201cWith Soutil Pencel Was Depeynted This Storie: Exploring the Influence of Manuscript Illumination on the Text of The Knight\u2019s Tale\u201d at the 21st annual conference of the Arizona Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies.<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><strong>Donelle Ruwe<\/strong>, English professor, published \u201cOld Guard &gt; Avant-Garde &gt; Kindergarde: The 2014 Lion and the Unicorn Award for Excellence in North American Poetry\u201d in the peer-reviewed journal <em>The Lion and the Unicorn<\/em>. The essay overviewed children\u2019s and young adult poetry published in 2013, identified current trends in poetry publishing, and presented the outstanding qualities of the award-winning collection and honor books.<\/li>\n<li>\n<figure id=\"attachment_36096\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-36096\" style=\"width: 169px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/stage.headlessnauedu-b6hgdzckfdgxgzhe.westus-01.azurewebsites.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Cheng-and-Bball-team-.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-36096 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/stage.headlessnauedu-b6hgdzckfdgxgzhe.westus-01.azurewebsites.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Cheng-and-Bball-team--169x300.jpg\" alt=\"Cheng and Bball team\" width=\"169\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/402\/2015\/04\/Cheng-and-Bball-team--169x300.jpg 169w, https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/402\/2015\/04\/Cheng-and-Bball-team--576x1024.jpg 576w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 169px) 100vw, 169px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-36096\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">President Rita Cheng greets senior Gaellan Bewernick upon the team&#8217;s arrival from the CIT tournament.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>NAU\u2019s men\u2019s basketball <\/strong>team\u2019s celebrated\u00a0season ended with a loss to Evansville in the championship game of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.collegeinsider.com\/tournament\/\"><strong>CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament<\/strong><\/a>. The Lumberjacks finished the season with a 23-15 record, the most wins in team history. President <strong>Rita Cheng<\/strong> and a group of Lumberjack fans greeted the team at the airport after their arrival from Indiana.<\/li>\n<li><strong>James Leve,<\/strong>\u00a0professor of music, presented a paper titled, \u201cThe Mouse and I: Singing and Intellectual Disability in the 1980 Broadway Musical Charlie and Algernon,\u201d at the annual conference of the Society for American Music. The paper applied insights from disability studies approaches to Broadway shows featuring characters with vocal and intellectual disabilities.
