Moore, assistant clinical professor, was recognized as one of the top professors of Dental Hygiene by Medical Technology Schools.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>Tracye A. Moore<\/strong>, assistant clinical professor of dental hygiene,\u00a0was featured as one of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.medicaltechnologyschools.com\/dental-hygienist\/top-dental-hygiene-professors\"><span class=\"s2\">20 Top Professors of Dental Hygiene<\/span><\/a>\u00a0on the Medical Technology Schools\u00a0blog. The list is comprised of outstanding professors in the field who\u00a0are innovators in everything from their instructional methods to their scholarly research, and also leaders in the dental hygiene community. Moore is an active participant in many professional organizations, including the American Dental Hygienists Association\u00a0and the New Era Dental Society. She is the current president of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ndhaonline.org\/#!ndha-president\/c1d34\" target=\"_blank\">National Dental Hygienist&#8217;s Association<\/a>\u00a0and advocates for minorities in the field of dental hygiene.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Wendy Wallace Bruun, <\/b>director of First-Generation Programs and\u00a0Initiatives,<b> <\/b>and <b>T. Mark Montoya,<\/b>\u00a0lecturer of Ethnic Studies, presented their paper, \u201cFaculty Learning Community for First-Generation College Student Experiences,\u201d at the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators 2015 Annual Conference in New Orleans.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>Tobias Kreidl<\/strong> and <strong>Duane Booher<\/strong>, members of the Information Technology\u00a0<\/span>Services Student Computing and Network Team, were featured in a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/nexenta.com\/company\/media\/press-releases\/leading-university-embraces-cloud-computing-nexenta-software-defined\">case study<\/a> by the Nexenta Corporation, a leading purveyor of Software\u00a0Defined Storage technology. The case study focuses on how the team was able to integrate this vendor&#8217;s storage technology and gain savings in disk storage space while increasing response time. This was done at the same cost that would have been\u00a0required to add on conventional storage.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><a href=\"http:\/\/stage.headlessnauedu-b6hgdzckfdgxgzhe.westus-01.azurewebsites.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/NMUN-2015-.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"  wp-image-35787 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/stage.headlessnauedu-b6hgdzckfdgxgzhe.westus-01.azurewebsites.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/NMUN-2015-.png\" alt=\"NMUN 2015\" width=\"304\" height=\"310\" srcset=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/402\/2015\/04\/NMUN-2015-.png 939w, https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/402\/2015\/04\/NMUN-2015--293x300.png 293w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 304px) 100vw, 304px\" \/><\/a>NAU&#8217;s <strong>Model United Nations<\/strong> team competed last week at the national\u00a0Model United Nations\u00a0conference in New York City. Representing Tonga, the team received the Distinguished Delegation award.\u00a0Pictured from left are <strong>John Bower<\/strong>, <strong>Will Wolf<\/strong>, <strong>McKenzie McLoughlin<\/strong>, <strong>Josh Demakovsky<\/strong>, <strong>John Murphy<\/strong>, <strong>Matt Dotzler<\/strong>, faculty advisor\u00a0<strong>Gretchen Gee<\/strong>, <strong>Caitlyn Ratliff<\/strong>\u00a0and <strong>Liam Bewick<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><strong>Mary Greenberg<\/strong>, assistant clinical professor of nursing, and Carol Rutenberg of Telephone Triage Consulting Inc. received the Linda Strangio Editor\u2019s Award from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.radiologynursing.org\/\">Journal of Radiology Nursing<\/a> at the annual business meeting of the Association for Radiologic and Imaging Nursing in Atlanta. They were honored for their article, &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.radiologynursing.org\/article\/S1546-0843(13)00203-4\/abstract\">Telephone Nursing in Radiology: Managing the Risks<\/a>,&#8221;\u00a0which appeared in the June 2014 edition of the journal.<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><strong>Bill Carter<\/strong>,\u00a0assistant professor of practice in the School of Communication, was a presenter at the <a href=\"http:\/\/mojocon.rte.ie\">2015\u00a0RT\u00c9 MojoCon<\/a> conference in Dublin, Ireland. The international conference\u00a0focuses\u00a0on mobile journalism, mobile filmmaking and mobile photography. Watch his interview <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=FljBPtD0DEg&amp;feature=youtu.be\">here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">NAU student<strong><strong> Shalene Yazzi\u00a0<\/strong><\/strong>was selected as an Honorable Mention\u00a0in\u00a0the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.udall.gov\/OurPrograms\/MKUScholarship\/MKUScholarship.aspx\">Udall<\/a>\u00a0national scholarship competition.\u00a0Yazzi received her bachelor&#8217;s degree\u00a0in biology with an emphasis in botany from NAU and is currently working toward her second bachelor\u2019s degree in public health at NAU.
