The NAU Art Museum and High Country Conference Center will display new art exhibits\u00a0beginning next week.<\/p>\n
The NAU Art Museum will present “Enduring America: Selections from the Collection of Art and Peggy Hittner,”\u00a0<\/i>a historical exhibition featuring American painting and sculpture from the 1930s and 1940s, beginning April 7.\u00a0An opening reception will be held\u00a0from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 9, at the museum, and the show will be on display through May 29.\u00a0The exhibition\u00a0<\/i>reflects the impulse among American artists to capture the strengths and values that shaped richly varied regional cultures.<\/p>\n
The NAU Art Museum is open noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and closed all university holidays. This exhibit is free and open to the public with a suggested $2 per person donation.\u00a0For information, visit\u00a0nau.edu\/artmuseum<\/a>\u00a0or call (928) 523-3471.<\/p>\n The art gallery at the High Country Conference Center will display a “Showcase of Artistry” featuring the work of 14\u00a0local artists from the Artists’ Coalition of Flagstaff from April 8 through July 7. An artists’ opening reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday,\u00a0April 8 with music by Jimmy DeBlois. The exhibit will showcase photography, acrylics, watercolors, oils, pastels, pencils, collage, assemblage, glass art, beadwork, ceramics and woven textiles.<\/p>\n The gallery is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
