Her presentation, \u201cAn Assessment Model for Your Living-Learning Program\u201d was selected for the Best of Award from the more than 60 sessions offered. The award recognizes high-quality educational programs and talent from across the profession. Belatti will represent the Living-Learning Programs Conference by presenting her session at the ACUHO-I Annual Conference and Exposition in Orlando in July.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Kappa Delta Sorority<\/strong> has established a new chapter at NAU and welcomed 115 new members on Feb. 1. The organization conducted recruitment with help from Kappa Delta undergraduate members from California\u00a0State University, San Bernardino and staff members from the National Office. Hardy will graduate in May and pursue a career in student services. The quilt is a collection of memories that serve as a reminder for the reasons she followed this career path and a memento she will cherish for years. The quilt will be on display for faculty, staff and students to view at the Gateway Student Success Center through\u00a0March 12.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>NAU hosted the <a href=\"http:\/\/vsnats.org\/auditions\/\">AZ District National Association of Teachers of Singing Classical Student Auditions<\/a>\u00a0Feb. 6-7. Approximately 175 students of all ages from across the state participated in the annual competition. Students taught by NAU faculty members <strong>Deborah Raymond<\/strong>, <strong>Judith Cloud<\/strong>, <strong>Ricardo Pereira<\/strong>, <strong>Robert Allen<\/strong> <strong>Saunders<\/strong> and <strong>Margaret Gunderson<\/strong> competed in several categories with seven taking home first-place awards. Additionally, four students placed second and eight placed third in their individual categories and several received honorable mentions. The faculty members also served as judges during the competition.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Harun Mehmedinovic<\/strong>, an instructor for the School of Communication, had his\u00a0time-lapse video of the Vermilion Cliffs National Monument in Arizona featured on BBC Earth. View the video\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.com\/earth\/story\/20150203-amazing-film-of-national-treasure\"><strong>here<\/strong><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Jon Reyhner<\/strong>, professor of Bilingual Multicultural Education, has a new book that will be published by the University of Oklahoma Press this spring. The book, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oupress.com\/ECommerce\/Book\/Detail\/1985\/teaching%20indigenous%20students\"><em>Teaching Indigenous Students: Honoring Place, Community, and Culture<\/em><\/a>, includes chapters written by Reyhner\u00a0as well as NAU professors <strong>Chad Hamill<\/strong>, <strong>Willard Sakiestewa Gilbert<\/strong>, <strong>Ward Cockrum<\/strong>, <strong>Christine Lemley<\/strong> and other scholars.<\/li>\n<li>Three teams of students in NAU\u2019s <strong>Construction Management Program<\/strong> competed in the <a href=\"http:\/\/asc67.org\/index.html\">Associated Schools of Construction Region 6<\/a> competition in Sparks, Nev., earlier this month.
