An annual campus celebration of cultures and identities will bring together faculty, staff and students to discuss and reflect on a range of current social topics.<\/p>\n
\u201cOne Community, Many Voices\u201d takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, in the du Bois Center Ballroom. This 25th annual event is an opportunity to discuss and learn about other cultures, foster a respectful community, learn about available campus resources and encourage discussion that educates and empowers.<\/p>\n
Planners are seeking faculty and staff members to facilitate small group discussions on several different topics, including diversity in the classroom, living with a disability, LGBTQ pressures and bullying, and privilege and socioeconomic status.<\/p>\n
A facilitator training will take place prior to the event at 5:15 p.m., where materials and guides for discussions will be distributed.<\/p>\n
To volunteer as a facilitator, contact\u00a0Katy Montoya<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0Ed Cahall<\/a>\u00a0indicating which two topics would be of interest to you as a facilitator.<\/p>\n The event, sponsored by NAU\u2019s Inclusion and Multicultural Services and the Office of Residence Life, is open to all faculty, staff and students and will feature refreshments and entertainment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
