{"id":33178,"date":"2014-10-24T09:51:07","date_gmt":"2014-10-24T16:51:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stage.headlessnauedu-b6hgdzckfdgxgzhe.westus-01.azurewebsites.net\/?p=33178"},"modified":"2014-10-24T14:07:15","modified_gmt":"2014-10-24T21:07:15","slug":"nau-brings-home-numerous-regional-emmy-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/nau-brings-home-numerous-regional-emmy-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"NAU brings home regional Emmy Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NAU students <strong>Mari Cleven<\/strong>, <strong>Andrew Moraca,<\/strong> <strong>Chris Binning<\/strong> and <strong>Emani Payne<\/strong> received five student production awards at the Rocky Mountain Regional Emmy Awards ceremony ceremony Oct. 18 in Scottsdale.<\/p>\n<p>The winning student productions include a story on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=jb5LVp1-no4&amp;app=desktop\">Buffalo soldiers<\/a>, a U.S. Army regiment of African Americans formed in 1866, a fiction piece called <a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\/94925438\">In Tandem, <\/a>and a story on the <a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\/m\/86927137\">Flagstaff Extreme Adventure<\/a> course.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Karen Pugliesi<\/strong>, dean of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, said these awards reflect the quality of NAU\u2019s education. \u201cThis year\u2019s Emmy awards are but one of many examples of how the School of Communication\u2019s faculty and leading edge learning experiences result in the highest levels of student achievement.\u201d School of Communication graduates go on to be highly accomplished leaders in their professions, Pugliesi added, noting the many alumni on campus this week for 2014 Homecoming activities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jerry Anderfuren<\/strong>, NAU-TV videographer and producer, won three professional regional Emmy Awards.
