Elaine Pagels, the Harrington Spear Paine Professor of Religion at Princeton University, will present \u201cArt, Music and Politics in the Book of Revelation\u201d at a public lecture at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, at Cline Library\u2019s Assembly Hall.<\/p>\n
Pagels, the recipient of Rockefeller, Guggenhiem and MacArthur Fellowships, earned international acclaim for her writings on Gnosticism and early Christianity. She is the author of\u00a0The Gnostic Gospels<\/em>, considered one of the best books of the 20th century by Modern Library.<\/p>\n Her most recent books include\u00a0Beyond Belief: The Secret Gospel of Thomas<\/em>\u00a0and the\u00a0New York Times<\/em>\u00a0Best Seller and Editor\u2019s Choice\u00a0Revelations: Visions, Prophecy and Politics in the Book of Revelation<\/em>.<\/p>\n Pagels\u2019 speech is part of the Cline Community Lecture in Humanities series.<\/p>\n The lecture is free but tickets are required for entry.
