As a Fulbright Specialist, Stoller\u2019s visit focused on academic literacy training for university faculty and students.<\/li>\n<li><strong>George Rudebusch<\/strong>, professor of philosophy, co-edited <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.ca\/Ancient-Ethics-Jorg-Hardy\/dp\/3899716299\">Ancient Ethics<\/a> with Jorg Hardy of the Free University of Berlin. The 500-page volume includes 25 essays that discuss ancient ethical thinking, epistemological and cosmological matters. Among the contributors is <strong>Julie Piering<\/strong>, the<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>NAU Richard Wood Professor for the Teaching of Philosophy.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ken Lorek<\/strong>, the Ralph M. Bilby Endowed Chair in The W.A. Franke College of Business, had an article titled \u201cA Critical Assessment of the Time-Series Literature in Accounting Pertaining to Quarterly Accounting Numbers\u201d accepted for publication in <em>Advances in Accounting<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>Several NAU faculty members contributed chapters in the recently published book <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.igi-global.com\/book\/models-improving-optimizing-online-blended\/104615\">Models for Improving and Optimizing Online and Blended Learning in Higher Education<\/a><\/em>. <strong>Astrid Klocke<\/strong>, associate professor for comparative cultural studies, co-authored the chapter \u201cBlending in the Humanities: Course Model and Assessment Results.\u201d <strong>Ishmael Munene<\/strong>, professor of educational leadership, along with <strong>Flower Darby<\/strong> and <strong>John Doherty<\/strong> of the e-Learning Center wrote the chapter titled \u201cBlended for Student Engagement and Retention: The Case of Cinema and Visual Culture and Healthy Lifestyle Studies.\u201d Both chapters explore the success of NAU blended programs in student engagement and retention at the undergraduate level.<\/li>\n<li>Northern Arizona University has earned 10\u00a0student <a href=\"http:\/\/rockymountainemmy.org\/awards\/students-production-award\/2014-student-production-awards-nominees\/\">Emmy nominations<\/a> from the Rocky Mountain Southwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.\u00a0<strong>Mari Cleven, Andrew Moraca, Chris Binning, Emani Payne, Aaron Benally, Jenna Lyter, Alexander Finden<\/strong> and <strong>Javeon Butler<\/strong> were named in the nomination. The Rocky Mountain Southwest Chapter is a member of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, serving Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming and El Centro, Calif.
