Reich<\/strong>, <strong>Galen R. Collins<\/strong> and <strong>John R. H. Cauvin<\/strong> of the School of Hotel and Restaurant Management, presented a paper at the recent International Council for Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Educators Conference in San Diego. Titled \u201cIs the Road to Effective Assessment of Learning Outcomes Paved with Good Intentions?&#8221; the paper addresses the responsibilities of hospitality programs to implement an effective assessment of learning outcomes process. The responsibilities they focused on included the promise of educational excellence in hospitality programs&#8217; values and mission statements, fulfilling the requirements of accreditation and the importance of transparency and accountability.<\/li>\n<li><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-31989\" src=\"http:\/\/stage.headlessnauedu-b6hgdzckfdgxgzhe.westus-01.azurewebsites.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/OTProgram2-1024x456.jpg\" alt=\"OTProgram2\" width=\"400\" height=\"178\" srcset=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/402\/2014\/08\/OTProgram2-1024x456.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/402\/2014\/08\/OTProgram2-300x133.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/>Northern Arizona University&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Occupational Therapy<\/strong>\u00a0doctoral program welcomed its first cohort of students for the 2014-15 academic year. The inaugural class of 24 students\u00a0join NAU\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000;\">physician assistant and physical therapy graduate programs at the modern\u00a0<\/span>Health Sciences Education Building<span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0on the Phoenix Biomedical Campus.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong>Nathalie Dart<\/strong>, project support at NAU\u2019s Family Violence Institute, co-authored an article published in\u00a0<em>Skyline<\/em>, The Big Sky Undergraduate Journal. Titled &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/skyline.bigskyconf.com\/journal\/vol2\/iss1\/5\/\">Undergraduate Students&#8217; Motivations for Attending Collegiate Sporting Events<\/a>,&#8221; Dart and colleagues examine the extent to which athletics play a role in the cultural and social life of students at NAU. The research was conducted under the mentorship of\u00a0<strong>James I.
