Casado<\/strong>, professor emeritus, has published a book in Spanish.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.co.uk\/GUERRA-HISPANO-ESTADOUNIDENSE-1898-NORTEAMERICANA-CONTIENDA\/dp\/1463383703\"><i>La Guerra Hispano-Estadounidense de 1898<\/i><\/a>\u00a0presents the American perspective of Spain&#8217;s 100-day conflict that resulted in the loss of its colonies and the bankruptcy of its economic and financial systems.<\/li>\n<li style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong>Ro Haddon<\/strong>, director of Liberal Studies, has been appointed editor of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tolkiensociety.org\/society\/publications\/mallorn\/\"><i>Mallorn<\/i><\/a>, the official journal of the Tolkien Society. Haddon becomes the Mallorn&#8217;s first editor who hails from outside the United Kingdom. The partnership between\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/stage.headlessnauedu-b6hgdzckfdgxgzhe.westus-01.azurewebsites.net\/aps-grant-boosts-stem-professional-development-program\/#.U_UEkXkk_fN\">NAU\u2019s Center for Science Teaching and Learning and the APS Foundation<\/a>\u00a0offers education and technical assistance for science and math teachers in grades K-8. Following the check presentation, Arizona educators discussed the program\u2019s benefits.<\/li>\n<li style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong>Season Ellison<\/strong>, Honors lecturer, was elected to serve as a conference planner for the National Women in Theatre Program with the Association of Theatre in Higher Education.<\/li>\n<li style=\"color: #333333;\">Northern Arizona University\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Program in Intensive English<\/strong>\u00a0is now a\u00a0member of EnglishUSA,\u00a0the largest professional association of intensive English programs in the United States. The program prepares foreign students for academic success at NAU by offering full-time English language coursework, development of study skills, immersion into American culture and exposure to university life.<\/li>\n<li style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong>Ann Huffman<\/strong>, associate professor of psychology and management, was presented the 2014 Organizations and Natural Environment Division of the Academy of Management Book Award for her contributions to &#8220;Green Organizations: Driving Change with IO Psychology.\u201d The\u00a0edited volume\u00a0discusses\u00a0how\u00a0industrial-organizational psychology contributes to environmental sustainability in organizations. Huffman also is the 2015 Division Program Chairperson for the American Psychological Association, Society of Industrial-Organizational Psychology to be held in Toronto.<\/li>\n<li style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong>Nicole Walker<\/strong>, professor of creative writing, was awarded an Artist and Research Development grant from the Arizona Commission on the Arts.
