Murrow Awards from the Radio and Television News Directors Association.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Shelly Watkins<\/strong>, KNAU general manager,\u00a0described this year\u2019s competition as the steepest yet with more than 4,000 entries.<\/p>\n<p>KNAU also was recognized for its \u201crare double win\u201d in News Series and in Writing for its entry,\u00a0\u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/knau.org\/post\/building-hope-haiti-part-i-hospital\">Building Hope in Haiti: Flagstaff Responds to Humanitarian Crisis<\/a>.\u201d The three-part series was written and produced by KNAU\u2019s <strong>Gillian Ferris<\/strong>, who traveled to Haiti in 2013 with the Northern Arizona Volunteer Medical Corps.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Laurel Morales\u2019<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fronterasdesk.org\/content\/9060\/lessons-learned-yarnell-hill-fire-investigation\">coverage of the Granite Mountain Hotshots tragedy<\/a> earned KNAU its third award.
