{"id":30533,"date":"2014-05-02T14:29:07","date_gmt":"2014-05-02T21:29:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stage.headlessnauedu-b6hgdzckfdgxgzhe.westus-01.azurewebsites.net\/?p=30533"},"modified":"2014-05-02T14:29:07","modified_gmt":"2014-05-02T21:29:07","slug":"student-concerto-competition-winners-perform","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/student-concerto-competition-winners-perform\/","title":{"rendered":"Student concerto competition winners to perform"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Winners of the 2014 NAU Community Music and Dance Academy Orchestra Concerto Competition will perform their winning pieces in concert with the Academy Orchestra on stage beginning at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 11, in Ardrey Memorial Auditorium.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">The Academy Orchestra, conducted by <strong>Jon Eder<\/strong>, will perform the movements from the winning concertos, including pieces from violinists\u00a0<strong>Elizabeth Scarnati <\/strong>and<strong>\u00a0<strong>Fiona Carroll <\/strong><\/strong>and\u00a0trombonist\u00a0<strong>Alex Burdiss.<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">NAU faculty members and professional musicians will join the ensemble in a side-by-side setting during the first half of the concert for the concertos. The second half will include Haydn&#8217;s <em>Symphony No. 94<\/em> (<em>&#8216;Surprise&#8217; Symphony<\/em>). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">The concert is free and open to the public.
