Northern Arizona University is celebrating campus sustainability and awareness during NAU\u2019s\u00a0Earth Week<\/a>, April 19-25.<\/p>\n

Festivities kick off off Saturday, April 19, with an afternoon of workshops and planting on Aspen Quad. Earth Week will continue with campus tours, an eco-fashion show<\/a>, a special talk with author\u00a0Bill McKibben<\/a> and even a DIY sustainability series<\/a> that highlights the university\u2019s commitment to environmental sustainability.<\/p>\n

On Earth Day, April 22, the Environmental Caucus will host its annual\u00a0Sustainability Awards<\/a> where President John Haeger<\/strong> will be honored for\u00a0his continued efforts in sustainable development at the university.<\/p>\n

Green NAU volunteers will be on hand at each event greeting participants and handing out #iCommit pins to those who pledge to make this year\u2019s theme \u201cEarth Day, Everyday\u201d part of their daily routine.<\/p>\n

NAU\u2019s efforts recently earned the university a place among the greenest schools in the nation. The university was profiled in Princeton Review\u2019s fifth annual Guide to 332 Green College: 2014 Edition<\/a>. Schools featured in the guide were chosen based on the \u201cGreen Rating\u201d scores tallied for 832 schools based on a survey conducted to measure schools\u2019 commitment to the environment and sustainability.<\/p>\n
