NAU also received a Bronze award for the \u201cCampaign for NAU Kick-off Gala\u201d in October that officially launched the university\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/stage.headlessnauedu-b6hgdzckfdgxgzhe.westus-01.azurewebsites.net\/nau-launches-100-million-fundraising-campaign\/\">$100 million fundraising campaign<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Janna Jones <\/strong>and<\/span><strong> Mark Neumann<\/strong>,\u00a0professors in the School of Communication, contributed chapters to the new book <\/span><i>Amateur Filmmaking:\u00a0The Home Movie, The Archive, The Web<\/i>. Neumann&#8217;s chapter, &#8220;Amateur Film, Automobility and the Cinematic Aesthetics of Leisure,&#8221; interprets 1947 home movies of a trip along Route 66 that stretched from Illinois to Flagstaff. Jones&#8217; chapter, &#8220;Starring Sally Peshlakai: Rewriting the Script for Tad Nichols&#8217; 1939 &#8216;Navajo Rug Weaving,'&#8221; focuses on an amateur film about the Peshlakai family who lived part of the year in Wupatki. &#8220;Navajo Rug Weaving&#8221; is part of the Cline Library Special Collections and Archives and was preserved with a grant from the National Film Preservation Foundation. The film may be watched <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/archive.library.nau.edu\/cdm\/singleitem\/collection\/cpa\/id\/73097\">here<\/a>.<P>Jones also published an article, titled &#8220;Connecting Across Hemispheres in Media Studies,&#8221; in the winter 2014 issue of\u00a0<em>Diversity and Democracy<\/em>, a publication of the Association of American Colleges and Universities. Jones&#8217; article details a course she co-teaches with a professor at the University of Wollongong in Australia.
