All concrete specimens were tested on-site and were judged by the test results. Shan and Ishaku were both recognized at the event and received a $500 award.<\/li>\n<li>\n<figure id=\"attachment_27603\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-27603\" style=\"width: 350px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-27603    \" alt=\"Rynn, Andryushchenko and Schlegel\" src=\"http:\/\/stage.headlessnauedu-b6hgdzckfdgxgzhe.westus-01.azurewebsites.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/modelUN.jpg\" width=\"350\" height=\"216\" srcset=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/402\/2013\/10\/modelUN.jpg 350w, https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/402\/2013\/10\/modelUN-300x185.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 350px) 100vw, 350px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-27603\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Shilo Rynn, Rebecca Andryushchenko and Nickolaus Schlegel<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Three undergraduates from NAU\u2019s Model United Nations club received awards at the Oct. 25 United Nations conference in Washington, D.C. Forestry major <b>Shilo Rynn<\/b>, political science major <b>Rebecca Andryushchenko<\/b> and international affairs major <b>Nickolaus Schlegel<\/b> were awarded Honorable Mention Delegation for Uganda.<\/p>\n<p>More than 30 students from the Model UN club are participating in other conferences this year, including a trip to Brussels, Belgium, in March. The club is advised by <b>Gretchen Gee<\/b> in the Department of Politics and International Affairs.<\/li>\n<li>\n<figure id=\"attachment_27604\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-27604\" style=\"width: 250px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-27604\" alt=\"Camden's 'Venus'\" src=\"http:\/\/stage.headlessnauedu-b6hgdzckfdgxgzhe.westus-01.azurewebsites.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/venus.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"375\" srcset=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/402\/2013\/10\/venus.jpg 250w, https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/402\/2013\/10\/venus-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-27604\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Camden&#8217;s &#8216;Venus&#8217;<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><b>Laura L. Camden<\/b>, associate professor of photojournalism, had a photograph selected for the Photo Review\u2019s 29th annual international photography competition. Camden was one of 16 artists accepted out of 357 applicants and received a juror\u2019s award for her image \u201cVenus,\u201d Mainpat, India.<\/p>\n<p>Her work will be published and exhibited in the \u201cBest of Show\u201d at the University of the Arts\u2019 Gallery in Philadelphia beginning Nov. 1.<\/p>\n<p>The competition was juried by Paul Roth, senior curator and director of Photography and Media Arts at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><a class=\"search-results-excerpt-link\" href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/spotlight-nov-1-2013\/\">Kudos to these faculty, staff and students Do you have a spotlight item to share with the NAU community?
