{"id":25863,"date":"2013-08-22T13:50:28","date_gmt":"2013-08-22T20:50:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stage.headlessnauedu-b6hgdzckfdgxgzhe.westus-01.azurewebsites.net\/?p=25863"},"modified":"2013-08-23T15:19:22","modified_gmt":"2013-08-23T22:19:22","slug":"students-invited-to-learn-about-fulbright-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/students-invited-to-learn-about-fulbright-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Students invited to learn about Fulbright program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/us.fulbrightonline.org\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-20298\" alt=\"Fullbright Scholarships\" src=\"http:\/\/stage.headlessnauedu-b6hgdzckfdgxgzhe.westus-01.azurewebsites.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/fulbright_logo.jpg\" width=\"288\" height=\"92\" \/><\/a>Esther Francis, a 2011-12 participant in the <a href=\"http:\/\/us.fulbrightonline.org\/\">Fulbright U.S. Student Program<\/a>, will be on campus next month to talk about her experience with that program and how to apply.<\/p>\n<p>The program funds one-year research, study and arts projects, as well as English teaching assistantships, in 155 countries.<\/p>\n<p>As a Fulbright student scholar studying business in Mexico, Francis pursued master\u2019s-level courses at the Instituto Tecnol\u00f3gico Aut\u00f3nomo de M\u00e9xico and worked as the human resources analyst for the United Nations Association.<\/p>\n<p>In her role as a <a href=\"http:\/\/us.fulbrightonline.org\/alumni\/alumni-ambassadors\">Fulbright Alumni Ambassador<\/a>, Francis mentors potential applicants, sharing what a Fulbright grant is really like, how to address the challenges of living abroad successfully, applications tips and how best to meet the Fulbright Program\u2019s ultimate goal of increasing mutual understanding between the people of the U.S. and the people of other countries.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. citizens who are graduating seniors, graduate students and recent graduates are eligible to apply to the program.<\/p>\n<p>Francis\u2019 presentation will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, in the W.A.
