Students with an interest in Chinese culture and language can get a month-long taste of the Asian nation through a study-abroad program offered through Northern Arizona University.<\/p>\n
The 2007 Summer Short-term Chinese Study Program: History and Culture of the Silk Road is a four-week program sponsored by NAU’s Center for International Education, the College of Education, the American Association of State Colleges and Universities and the China Center for Educational Exchange.<\/p>\n
The program will offer tours, lectures and visits to Chinese universities. All classes and lectures will be in English, and academic credit may be available.<\/p>\n
Thomas J. DeStefano<\/strong>, professor of educational psychology, will lead the tour from July 6 to Aug. 3 to Shanghai, Lanzhou, Turpan, Urumqi and Beijing.<\/p>\n An informational meeting is scheduled for 3 p.m. Feb. 28 in Tinsley Hall.
