{"id":25413,"date":"2007-02-07T10:25:43","date_gmt":"2007-02-07T17:25:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stage.headlessnauedu-b6hgdzckfdgxgzhe.westus-01.azurewebsites.net\/?p=25413"},"modified":"2015-08-17T15:21:52","modified_gmt":"2015-08-17T22:21:52","slug":"spring-fling-nau-enrollment-continues-upward-trend","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/spring-fling-nau-enrollment-continues-upward-trend\/","title":{"rendered":"Spring fling: NAU enrollment continues upward trend"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Northern Arizona University recorded a total enrollment of 19,095 students in Flagstaff and at sites throughout Arizona, about 5.5 percent higher than spring 2006.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our spring enrollment continues the pattern we discovered in the fall,&#8221; said NAU President\u00a0<strong>John Haeger<\/strong>. &#8220;Thanks to the hard work of our faculty, staff and students, we continue to attract students who recognize the quality of Northern Arizona University.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In fall 2006, NAU recorded the largest enrollment in its 107-year history, with a student population of 20,562, a 7.8 percent increase over the previous fall. The student population normally declines from fall to spring semester, and this spring NAU retained 93 percent of its fall count.<\/p>\n<p>Numbers for spring 2007 show an increase in all ethnic categories over spring 2006 with the biggest increases among African-American students showing a 21.7 percent increase and Latino students showing a 10.3 percent increase. International students increased 15.5 percent over last year.<\/p>\n<p>NAU&#8217;s total spring enrollment on the Flagstaff campus is 12,340, with online and statewide enrollment, including the NAU-Yuma branch campus, at 6,755.<\/p>\n<p>NAU recorded 13,453 undergraduate students, compared to 12,665 last spring, a 6.2 percent increase.
