{"id":24893,"date":"2006-01-10T13:51:43","date_gmt":"2006-01-10T20:51:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stage.headlessnauedu-b6hgdzckfdgxgzhe.westus-01.azurewebsites.net\/?p=24893"},"modified":"2015-08-17T15:18:02","modified_gmt":"2015-08-17T22:18:02","slug":"six-faculty-appointed-to-ombuds-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/six-faculty-appointed-to-ombuds-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Six faculty appointed to Ombuds program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Six faculty members have been appointed as the inaugural group of new faculty ombuds, announced\u00a0<strong>Liz Grobsmith,\u00a0<\/strong>provost and vice president for Academic Affairs.<\/p>\n<p>The six are\u00a0<strong>Matt Casado<\/strong>\u00a0of the School of Hotel and Restaurant Management,\u00a0<strong>Laurie Dickson\u00a0<\/strong>of the Department of Psychology,\u00a0<strong>Jack Dustman\u00a0<\/strong>of the College of Business Administration,\u00a0<strong>Lynn Jones\u00a0<\/strong>of the Department of Criminal Justice,\u00a0<strong>Catherine Medina<\/strong>\u00a0of the Department of Educational Specialties, and<strong>\u00a0Lon Owen<\/strong>\u00a0of the Department of Biological Sciences.<\/p>\n<p>These six faculty members, along with program coordinator\u00a0<strong>Gary Buckley<\/strong>, will constitute NAU&#8217;s Faculty Ombuds Program cadre of facilitators.<\/p>\n<p>A little over a year in planning and development, the Faculty Ombuds Program will provide informal and confidential conflict resolution options to members of NAU&#8217;s faculty.<\/p>\n<p>Grobsmith said she hopes the program will add significantly to the tools available to faculty and academic administrators for addressing faculty issues, concerns and work-related problems.<\/p>\n<p>For information about accessing the services of the Faculty Ombuds Program, call (928) 523-8767.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><a class=\"search-results-excerpt-link\" href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/six-faculty-appointed-to-ombuds-program\/\">Six faculty members have been appointed as the inaugural group of new faculty ombuds, announced\u00a0Liz Grobsmith,\u00a0provost and vice president for Academic Affairs.
