Northern Arizona University\u2019s Fronske Health Center has been reaccredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care for a three-year term, the longest possible.<\/p>\n
Accreditation also was awarded to NAU\u2019s Counseling Center for the second consecutive time.<\/p>\n
\u201cOf the hundreds of university health centers across the country, only 197 have achieved accreditation status,\u201d said Beth Applebee<\/strong>, executive director of Campus Health Services. \u201cWhen you see our certificate of accreditation, you know that the association has determined we care enough about our patients and clients to strive for the highest level of care possible.”<\/p>\n Status as an accredited organization means Fronske Health Center and the Counseling Center have met nationally recognized standards for the provision of quality health and mental care set by AAAHC.<\/p>\n Fronske has maintained its accreditation since 1982. The current accreditation will be revisited in 2016.<\/p>\n Ambulatory health care organizations seeking accreditation undergo an extensive self-assessment and on-site review by accreditation association\u2019s surveyors.<\/p>\n \u201cGoing through the process challenges us to find better ways to serve our patients and clients, and it is a constant reminder of our responsibility to continuously improve the quality of care we provide,\u201d Applebee said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
