{"id":24259,"date":"2006-10-18T13:42:23","date_gmt":"2006-10-18T20:42:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stage.headlessnauedu-b6hgdzckfdgxgzhe.westus-01.azurewebsites.net\/?p=24259"},"modified":"2015-08-17T15:09:53","modified_gmt":"2015-08-17T22:09:53","slug":"cultural-youth-art-gets-awarded","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/cultural-youth-art-gets-awarded\/","title":{"rendered":"Cultural youth art gets awarded"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Local elementary and high school students who won a cultural art contest organized for NAU&#8217;s celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Celebracion de La Raza, were presented NAU bookstore certificates by NAU President<strong>\u00a0John Haeger<\/strong>\u00a0during a reception in the University Union on Oct. 12.<\/p>\n<p>Contest winners from Puente de Hozho elementary school were\u00a0<strong>Katarina Darnell<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Johnny Brooks<\/strong><strong>Sedillo<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Ruben Cruz Soto<\/strong>. High school winners were\u00a0<strong>Yosimar Sanchez<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Daniel Vargas<\/strong>\u00a0from Coconino High School, and\u00a0<strong>Andrea Vasquez<\/strong>\u00a0from Flagstaff High School.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was a good time seeing the imagination these kids have,&#8221; said\u00a0<strong>Marcos Enriquez<\/strong>, who co-chaired organizing the month-long activities with\u00a0<strong>Kesia Ceniceros<\/strong>. Both Enriquez and Ceniceros are NAU students.
