Janet Napolitano will be among the dignitaries when Northern Arizona University, the city of Flagstaff and Drury Hotels officially break ground on their joint hotel-conference center complex on north campus.<\/p>\n<div>The ceremony begins at 2:30 p.m. Oct. 16 in front of North Union\/Prochnow Auditorium. A reception will follow.<\/div>\n<p>Representatives of the Arizona Board of Regents, the city of Flagstaff and Drury will join NAU President\u00a0<strong>John Haeger<\/strong>\u00a0and the governor for the ceremony marking the start of the 41,000-square-foot conference center and 150-room hotel near Butler Avenue and Milton Road. The complex also will contain a parking structure.<\/p>\n<p>Missouri-based Drury recently was recognized in the J.D. Power &amp; Associates North American Guest Satisfaction Index Study as the top chain among &#8220;mid-scale, limited service&#8221; hotels.<\/p>\n<p>Consultants have projected the conference center could generate an additional $7 million annually in economic development for Flagstaff.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><a class=\"search-results-excerpt-link\" href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/governor-to-help-break-ground-on-conference-center\/\">Gov.
