Read a description of the book\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.routledge.com\/books\/details\/9780415892674\/\">here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Luke Plonsky<\/strong>, assistant professor of applied linguistics, along with co-author Susan Gass, linguistics professor at Michigan State University, recently were awarded the ACTFL-MLJ Paul Pimsleur Award for Research in Foreign Language Education for their article &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/10.1111\/j.1467-9922.2011.00640.x\/full\">Quantitative Research Methods, Study Quality, and Outcomes: The Case of Interaction Research<\/a>.&#8221; The study, published last year in the journal\u00a0<em>Language Learning,<\/em>\u00a0employed research synthetic and meta-analytic techniques to assess and evaluate methodological features and outcomes in a prominent area of second language acquisition research.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><a class=\"search-results-excerpt-link\" href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/in-the-spotlight-sept-28-2012\/\">Kudos to these faculty, staff and students Do you have a spotlight item to share with the NAU community?
