A native of Edina, Minn., McClelland has a 4.00 GPA in pre-medicine.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>She played at the top position this season, posting an 11-26 overall record at No. 1 (4-16 in dual matches). She helped the Lumberjacks to a third-place finish in the regular-season standings and a Big Sky Tournament finals appearance. She also posted a 6-5 record at No. 2 doubles with teammate<strong>Julie Schmandt<\/strong>\u00a0in the spring.<\/p>\n<p>Schmandt is a three-time Golden Eagle Award recipient.<\/p>\n<p>She joined 10 student-athletes from across the district on the team. She will now compete for a spot on the Academic All-America At-Large team.<\/p>\n<p>Schmandt is the eighth NAU student-athlete to be honored this year on the\u00a0<em>ESPN the Magazine<\/em>Academic All-America District 8 teams. Men\u2019s basketball player\u00a0<strong>Kelly Golob<\/strong>\u00a0was an Academic All-America second team selection. Women\u2019s basketball players\u00a0<strong>Nicky Eason<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Megan Porter<\/strong>\u00a0and<strong>Alyssa Wahl<\/strong>, soccer players redshirt freshman\u00a0<strong>Cee Cee Odorfer<\/strong>\u00a0and junior\u00a0<strong>Lindsey Carey\u00a0<\/strong>and football player\u00a0<strong>Jeff Singleton<\/strong>\u00a0were all-district selections.
